Description
The essential oil of Black Pepper (Piper Nigrum) is a symbol of virility and power, and in ancient times was also used as currency with the name of black gold.
Disclosure information:
It is recognised by the Ministry of Health as an antioxidant and promoter of cardiovascular wellbeing. It has digestive properties, regulates gastrointestinal motility, and has a carminative effect.
In aromatherapy it is used to prevent chilblains, stimulate circulation, and soothe muscle aches and pains.
It is used as an ingredient in remedies to combat cellulite as it is a lipolytic and a stimulant of metabolism and blood and lymphatic circulation. It is thought to facilitate the elimination of organic toxins, activate thermogenesis by helping to convert fat into energy, and promote the elimination of panniculus adiposus and localised fat deposits. It is a strong antibacterial and antioxidant. It is also used to treat gastro-intestinal problems.
It has been observed to be an insect repellent when left in cupboards.
In the kitchen it gives the spice fragrance without the spicy part, suitable for cooking with children without giving up pepper. We also recommend it in desserts and syrups. Try it in its Essentia Spray version.
It helps to centre the personality, bringing to completion and giving continuity to the actions undertaken.
Suggested uses:
- Room diffuser: a choice of 3 to 6 drops in 100 ml of water. We suggest accompanying it with other essential oils.
- Bath: 5 to 7 drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt, milk, cream, or honey in hot water (to prevent the oil from evaporating due to the heat).
- Massage: we recommend diluting a few drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil.
- Food use: we recommend 1 drop for every 3 to 400 g of food to be flavoured and added at the end of cooking (we suggest you always start with the lowest recommended dose and increase the drops in the future). This essential oil also goes very well in certain cocktails.
Warnings: Non-toxic essential oil, used in high concentration may cause irritation. If in doubt, consult a doctor/pharmacist.
