The bitter orange essential oil is the very symbol of life—depending on a source of heat and light, so sweet under a rugged, bitter peel.
The fruits come from the province of Messina.
The essential oil is obtained by cold-pressing the peels.
It has a sweet and fruity aroma, with both a sweet and a sour note.

It expresses and inspires vigor, gradually releasing tensions. Very helpful against insomnia. It’s a febrifuge that soothes headaches, solves inappetence problems, eases digestion, and fights acne. An abdomen massage will help in case of stomach spasms.
Home diffuser: add between 3 and 6 drops to 100 ml of water
Bathtub: emulsify 8-10 drops of essential oil with coarse salt — or alternatively milk, cream, or honey — to add to the hot water (so that the oil doesn’t evaporate due to the heat)
Massages: we recommend to dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil
Cosmetics: add 3-5 drops of essential oil to one tablespoon of natural moisturizer
Food: we recommend 3-4 drops per 100 gr of food, to add after cooking (we suggest to always start with the lower dose and then increase it later, if preferred). This essential oil is perfect for the preparation of some cocktails.
Caution: do not use in case of chronic diseases, pregnancy, or when breastfeeding.
If in doubt, please consult your doctor/naturopath.
This essential oil can give sensitive reactions with sunlight. Be careful.
