Description
The essential oil of Atlas Cedarwood (Cedrus Atlantica), a majestic tree with a strongly aromatic wood, was used by the ancient Egyptians for embalming.
It is used in aromatherapy as a powerful antiseptic. It’s an excellent tonic, revitalising and tissue healing agent. It is used in naturopathy especially for advanced cellulitis due to its ability to dislodge deep-seated toxins and bring them to the surface to be eliminated. It removes blockages and stagnation, even very old ones, acting on both venous and lymphatic circulation.
It is used as an ingredient in anti-dandruff shampoos and in remedies against micro-organisms. Recommended by aromatherapists for dermatitis, dry eczema, itching and insect bites. It’s also against skin fungus and athlete’s foot, and to revitalise and stimulate hair and nail growth.
Very popular in mixology, bartenders love its woody scent without smoky notes, try it in its Essentia spray version and watch Geronimo and Roberto Abbadati’s drink recipe.
In Subtle Aromatherapy gives balance and stability and strengthens us inwardly.
It works against moths in the wardrobe.
Suggested uses:
- Room diffuser: a few drops in 100 ml of water.
- Bath: A few drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt, milk, cream, or honey in hot water (to prevent the oil from evaporating due to the heat).
- Massage: we recommend diluting a few drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil.
- Food use: we recommend 1/2 drops for every 100 g of food to be flavoured and added at the end of cooking (we suggest you always start with the lowest recommended dose and increase the drops in the future). This essential oil also goes very well in certain cocktails.
Warnings: Do not use in case of chronic diseases, during pregnancy and lactation. If in doubt, consult a doctor.
