Description
Eucalyptus citriodora (Eucaliptus citriodora) essential oil, together with its fellows Globulus and Radiata, makes up our range of choice for this important and versatile plant.
It has a balsamic, emollient, and soothing effect on the mucous membrane of the airways. It improves voice tone and hoarseness as recognised by the Ministry of Health.
It is appreciated by naturopaths as a febrifuge, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Useful as an antifungal and to maintain healthy skin in case of cold sores.
Can help eliminate dandruff if diluted in shampoo.
Used for massages and rubs, it is useful for muscular pains, rheumatism and headaches.
Also valuable as a mosquito repellent, it is used as a starting material for isolating natural Citronella.
Its ability to clean, protect and refresh allows it to affect states of mind where disorder and over-excitement prevail. It reconciles with the right rhythm, giving time to those who think they do not have enough of it.
Suggested uses:
- Room diffuser: choice of 3 to 6 drops in 100 ml of water.
- Suffumigation: 3/4 drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt in 1 litre of hot water for 20 minutes. Keep eyes and mouth closed.
- Bath: 8/10 drops of essential oil emulsified in coarse salt, milk, cream, or honey in the hot water (this prevents the oil from evaporating due to the heat).
- Massage: we recommend diluting 2/3 drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil.
Warnings: Essential Oil moderately toxic if taken orally, do not use in case of chronic diseases, during pregnancy and lactation. If in doubt consult a doctor/pharmacist.
